MICAH PERRY, TENOR
Biography
American Tenor Micah Perry is thrilled to return to Opera San José as an Artist in Residence. Last season with OSJ, he performed Beppe in Pagliacci and covered Ferrando in Così fan tutte. His previous season also included performing as Will Parker in Oklahoma! with Pensacola Opera. Micah is also returning to Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a 2026 Gerdine Young Artist, singing Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet.
Perry enjoys a versatile career as an opera and consort singer. Previously, he was a Jan Miller Studio Artist at Pensacola Opera, where he performed as Don Basilio and Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro and Beppe in Pagliacci. He took Second Place in the 2025 Gulf Shore Regional Laffont Competition. He also joined Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a 2025 Gerdine Young Artist, covering Lysander in Midsummer Night's Dream and Glenn in the Ricky Ian Gordon world premiere, This House.
In his 2023-24 season, Perry debuted with Austin Opera as Remendado in Carmen. Other season highlights include Don Basilio and Don Curzio with Landlocked Opera and Third Priest in Eccles' Semele with American Baroque Opera. He also performed Ernesto in Don Pasquale with the Quisisana Resort.
Perry was a Studio Artist at Wolf Trap Opera in 2023. In the same year, he performed Javier in Luisa Fernanda with Baylor University Opera Theatre, where he also performed Martin in The Tender Land, Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi, Duke in Patience, and Bellerose in Monsieur et Madame Denis.
Perry was a member of the Manetti Shrem Opera Academy at Festival Napa Valley in 2022, covering Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore. He has also spent multiple seasons with Music On Site Inc. singing the roles of Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte in 2022 and King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors in 2021.
Micah received his Master's degree in Voice Performance from Baylor University and his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from South Dakota State University.
